Gibson, Charles Dana - Original 1895 Print

"Golf is Not the Only Game on Earth"
This original print is from 1895 by Charles Dana Gibson (1867-1944) an American graphic artist. He was best known for his creation of the Gibson Girl, an iconic representation of the beautiful and independent American woman at the turn of the 20th century.

Many of Mr. Gibson's drawing deal with the eternal question of love, courtship and marriage. And in several of his pictures cupids, singly or in numbers, are depicted. In this particular print we have a young couple leaning and sitting on a fence. A little cupid is in evidence holding on to some golf clubs. The caption of the print says:
Golf is Not the Only Game on Earth"
