2009 Autographed Masters Champions Dinner Menu
The 1988 Masters Champion, Sandy Lyle, acquired the signatures on this menu at the 2009 Masters Champions dinner honoring Trevor Immelman, the preceding year's winner. The menu featured Bobotie, a South African spiced minced meat pie with an egg topping.
After winning his first Masters in 1951, Ben Hogan suggested and hosted the first ever Champions dinner in 1952. Masters winners are members of an exclusive club, officially recognized as the Masters Club. Each year on Tuesday evening before the Masters, the previous year's champion is welcomed to the club. The only attendees are Masters Champions, the chairman of Augusta National Golf Club, and when he was still alive, Bobby Jones, the founder of the Masters Invitational. The menu is chosen by the previous year's winner, but former champs are not required to have what the defending champion selected. If they wish, they may order from the regular Augusta National menu. This group photo, which appears on the front of this menu, captures the attendees of the inaugural dinner.
