"Momentum" U.S. Open Monument Commemorative Sculpture

The 100th U.S. Open at Pebble Beach Golf Links in 2000 featured a monumental performance by Tiger Woods, who won by a major-championship-record 15 strokes.
It also featured the debut of a monument of a more traditional sort. “Momentum” by California sculptor Richard MacDonald, a 15-foot-tall, 15-ton bronze sculpture, was commissioned for Pebble Beach’s fourth U.S. Open, to commemorate both the U.S. Open and the new millennium. The US Open Monument Commemorative was created to share the landmark of the 100th US Open Golf Tournament at the historic Pebble Beach Golf Links in 2000. The US Open Monument Commemorative is a study of the monument itself, installed at the Peter Hay Executive Course at Pebble, representing the anatomy of the perfect golf swing as it encircles centuries of excellence past, present and future. The 100th US Open Monument by Richard MacDonald stands 15' high and resides permanently at Pebble Beach. The monument's base, designed by the artist, is engraved with the past 100 winners on the front including a special bronze plaque for 2000 championship winner, Tiger Woods.

This is a solid bronze and black granite statue made by artist Richard D. MacDonald to commemorate the 100th US Open at Pebble Beach. The statue titled "U.S. Open Monument" Commemorative Study. Limited Edition #12/100, dated year 2000.
