Blair, John - Original Watercolor

John Blair original watercolor of a golf course at Lundin Links, a small village in Fife, Scotland. The village is best known for its two golf courses. Lundin Links Ladies 9 hole course is the oldest woman's golf course in the world.

John Blair (1850-1934) was born at Hutton, near Berwick upon Tweed. Blair was an Edinburgh artist who worked largely in watercolor, producing topographical views of towns and villages on the east coast, including Edinburgh and the Borders.

Blair's topographical watercolors were at their most popular in the mid-1870's. The color became stronger in his later work, reminiscent of Hamilton Glass.

Blair exhibited regularly from 1870 until 1920, including 83 works at the Royal Scottish Academy.
