Doug Ford won the 1957 Masters, defeating Sam Snead by 3 strokes. As final round play began, Snead held a 3 stroke lead over Ford. Snead was unable to hold his lead, posting an unimpressive even-par 72. Doug Ford capitalized on Snead's lackluster play by firing a remarkable 66, highlighted by a holed bunker shot on the final green to finalize his victory.
Doug Ford also won the 1956 PGA Championship, added The Western Open and The Los Angeles Open to go along with his Masters win in 1957 and won the 1963 Canadian Open for his final tournament title.
