Jones, Bobby - 1929 U.S. Amateur, Autograph Cut

This historic piece features a rare original vintage "Robert T. Jones Jr." signature that has been authenticated by James Spence Authentication (JSA). The canvas giclee image is Bobby Jones on the practice green at Pebble Beach before the 1929 U.S. Amateur. Although Jones was upset at this Amateur, his trip to the west coast was not in vain as he discovered the genius of Alister Mackenzie at the newly opened Cypress Point and Pasatiempo golf courses. The result was hiring Mackenzie to build the course of his dreams - Augusta National Golf Club. The course opened four years later and a year after that the first annual Masters tournament was inaugurated.
