Mize, Larry - Autographed Golf Ball
Born: September 23, 1958 in Augusta, GA.
The 1987 Masters ended with a storybook ending for Larry Mize. Mize, an Augusta native who had worked the Masters scoreboards as a teenager, did not play spectacularly. His score of 285 would put him firmly in the middle of the top 10 in most Masters. This Masters, however, he birdied the final hole to tie Greg Norman and Seve Ballesteros and found himself in a sudden death playoff.
Seve Ballesteros would fall out of the playoff with a three putt at the 10th, leaving Norman and Mize to meet their destiny at the 11th hole. Mize hit his second shot to the right of the 11th green and had a difficult, quick 140-foot chip. With the world watching, Mize calmly struck his chip and held his breath as it rolled into the center of the cup. Norman could not match his unlikely birdie and Mize was Masters Champion.Golf Links To The Past is proud to guarantee the authenticity of every autograph we sell.
