Born: November 28, 1907 in Plymouth, MA. - Died: April 30, 1997
Henry Picard won the rain delayed 1938 Masters by firing a final round 70 and beating Ralph Guldahl and Harry Cooper by 2 strokes. The opening round was rain delayed until Saturday when Cooper took the lead with a 68. After 36 holes on Sunday, Picard held a 1 stroke lead over four players. At the conclusion of the Monday final round, Guldahl and Cooper were the leaders in the clubhouse at 287 when Picard posted his winning 285.
Picard was one of the most successful golfers of the 1930's, adding the 1939 PGA Championship to his 1938 Masters and 28 total PGA Tour wins. Henry Picard was elected into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2006.
