Alister Mackenzie was born in 1870 to Scottish parents in Yorkshire, England, and earned a medical degree from Cambridge University, although he eventually abandoned his studied profession for a career in golf course architecture. One of the first golf course architects to advocate strategy over a penal design, his courses are enjoyed by players of all skill levels while still challenging the most experienced golfers. At Cypress Point, overlooking the Pacific, Mackenzie made good work of one of the most enviable sites in the whole world of golf. Bobby Jones was so impressed with this course that he decided to ask Mackenzie to co-design Augusta National.

The first in sculptor Ron Tunison's new architectural legends series.

Golf Links to the Past and renowned sculpture Ron Tunison are proud to offer this striking likeness of Alister Mackenzie. Each sculpture is 16" tall and is mounted on a 6.5" x 7" marble base.
