Obviously, on this par 3 of 172 to 185 yards, the player must hit the green with the tee shot or pay the penalty. The bunker on the left is quite deep but is a preferable position to being in the shallower right hand bunker when the pin is in the front. This because the green slopes severely from back to front and right to left. A shot from the right hand bunker to a front pin placement can easily run off the green. And, if that is not enough, an underplayed shot to the front of the green, when the pin is back, leaves such a long and sloped putt, that 3 putts are common and 4 putts a distinct possibility. Needless to say, even greater putting problems lay in wait for the shot to the back of the green when the pin is front.
