This first generation, hand printed large format 16 x 20 in. photo of George Dunlap holding the trophy from his victory at the 1933 U.S. Amateur Championship is beautifully sepia toned with an impressed stamp of renowned photographer G. Pietzcker, St. Louis appearing at the bottom right. Circa 1933, this photograph is twice the collectible because of Mr. Pietzcker’s reputation as the early game’s most sought after and collected photographer. In addition to winning the 1933 US Amateur, Dunlap was a fixture at Pinehurst and was the winner of nearly every significant tournament held there for more than 15 years from the early 1930’s to the mid 1940’s.

About The Photographer:
George Pietzcker was the premier golf photographer in the U.S. for the first half of the 20th century. Although many of his images have appeared in books and publications most were uncredited. Golf's Golden Age represents the largest body of his work compiled for publication to date. Pietzcker's work is highly sought after by golf and photography collectors worldwide.
