About The Book:
Stewart “Kiltie” Maiden became one of the golfing world's most successful teachers at a time when golf was exploding onto the American sports scene. Maiden’s silky smooth golf swing was grounded in the Carnoustie tradition brought to these shores by more than 300 Scotsmen who came to work in the golf industry in the early 1900s. Within three decades of Kiltie arriving at East Lake, three of his students had won national and numerous other championships. His thoughts and techniques on the golf swing produced star pupils like Alexa Stirling Fraser, Perry Adair, Charlie Yates, and, of course, Bobby Jones. Harvey Penick said of Kiltie, “I’ve always said the best golf teacher of all has to be Stewart Maiden of East Lake.” |
