Renowned club maker, Jesse Ortiz, worked with short game mastermind Dave Pelz, to completely rethink the design of wedges.

• The faces on wedges wear out very quickly, and a pro on tour will replace wedges every four or five weeks. The edge of the score lines control spin, and the breakdown of the milling there equals loss of control.
  
  
• Under a microscope, the milling on a sandblasted wedge looks like the surface of the moon. The milling on Jesse’s wedge looks like 10,000 symmetrical saw teeth. This gives you ultimate control.
  
  
• The wedges incorporate a face insert that has a material chosen to maintain its integrity for up to 10,000 shots.
  
  
• The wedge maintains the feel of a classic wedge by the addition of a 3M bonding membrane placed behind the face insert. The membrane, when heated, produces a bond stronger than a metal weld but retains its characteristic “sponginess” for natural feel and playability. It’s like a perimeter-weighted wedge but with a classic look.
  
  
• The body of the wedge head is Stainless 302 steel, a very soft stainless to help absorb shock and to allow people to bend the neck.
  
  
• Jesse hollowed out the area behind the face insert, allowing the muscle to be deeper and thicker. This lowers the center of gravity on the club, which makes for a higher ball flight and softer landings.
